North Columbia Youth Empowerment Initiative to hold Community Summit focused on community advocacy communications
Columbia, S.C. (Jan. 23, 2025)—The North Columbia Youth Empowerment Initiative (NCYEI) is honored to partner with Serve & Connect, Columbia Police Department, Richland County Police Department and TRIO to announce a special marketing workshop at the 2025 Community Summit. TRIO, a full-service marketing firm in Mount Pleasant, will present the workshop, providing valuable insights and practical tools for community-based marketing.
The workshop will be held on Feb. 1, 2025, at Earlewood Park, 1113 Recreation Drive, Columbia, SC 29201, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. This workshop will be of interest to community leaders and advocates, especially those interested in addressing social issues such as ending gun violence.
The workshop will teach attendees the skills and knowledge to develop effective marketing strategies tailored to their communities. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of community-specific nuances and leave with actionable DIY tools they can implement immediately. Some discussion topics include an introduction to grassroots marketing, developing your elevator pitch for your cause and choosing the proper marketing channels (i.e., social media, flyers, emails, etc.)
"We are thrilled to partner with TRIO to offer this valuable workshop," says Erica Staley, Columbia Compass program manager. "We believe that empowering individuals and organizations with effective marketing strategies can strengthen our communities and foster greater collaboration."
The workshop will include two breakout sessions, light refreshments, lunch and networking opportunities. Guests are encouraged to register via ncyei.org/contact-us or contact Erica Staley at erica@serveandconnect.org or 803-597-3154 ext. 6.
